Unemployment Continues To Rise In Most States

Key swing states have seen jobless rates increase as the election draws closer.
The health of our nations economy will play an important part in the Presidential election.
The middle class is suffering with unemployment, higher prices at the pump and smaller take home pay.
The presidential campaign is in a tight race and the bad news regarding the jobless data will likely give Romney plenty to talk about along the campaign trail.

Gas Prices On The Rise – Obama May Tap Oil Reserves


Having $4 per gallon gasoline is not good for President Obama’s election campaign.  Releasing part of the strategic petroleum reserve is an option on the table being considered.
Gas prices have been steadily climbing across much of the nation over the past week.
Rising fuel prices stretch business budgets.
Presidential candidate Mitt Romney could slam Obama for the high gas prices as a talking point along the campaign trail.

Will Republican VP Pick Turn Campaign Around?




Mitt Romney's pick for VP is Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan.

Ryan is currently serving his seventh term as a member of congress.

In the coming weeks, voters will likely be hearing much more about the "Ryan Plan" which is a controversial budget proposal.

Ryan has a hardline on medicare and could be a risky choice with older voters. Conservatives will likely be pleased by the choice seeking someone bold with different and exciting ideas.

Texas County Declares Emergency


There is a public health emergency in Dallas County, Texas due to West Nile virus. Nine people are dead from the virus thus far.

The emergency declaration by Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins will expand assistance to battle West Nile virus.

Aerial insecticides will be sprayed at night when children are inside.

Tarrant County has also had an increase in cases.

People should wear long pants and long sleeves and stay indoors at dusk and dawn.

People Hurt At Milwaukee Temple Following Shooting


Several people have been hurt at a Wisconsin temple after at least one gunman opened fire.

Update:It has been reported that at-least seven people are dead including one shot by police.

ICE Agent Faces Suspension For Illegal Immigrant Arrest



Republican Sen. Jeff Sessions of Alabama is demanding answers after an ICE agent is facing possible punishment for arresting an illegal immigrant.

The agent was ordered by his supervisor to release the individual after being told he is not our primary target. The 35 year old male illegal immigrant had been arrested on numerous driving violations

Ernesto Expected To Reach Hurricane Strength

Tropical Storm Ernesto is expected to skirt Jamaica and could strike Mexico's Yucutan Peninsula around mid week. 

Caribbean islands are preparing for heavy rain and high winds. 

Everyone in the Southern part of the United States along the Gulf should monitor Ernesto closely. Ernesto will travel west over the next few days.

A new tropical storm "Florence" has formed in the Atlantic.

Crown Castle is the likely buyer for T-Mobile towers although a final deal could fail or be months away.

The 7 thousand towers could bring T-Mobile some 2 billion dollars that would help with buying additional spectrum or used for deploying UMTS over 1900 Mhz or LTE on the AWS band.

Postal Service Reductions To Harm Rural Areas Most


The postal service didn't make a 5.5 billion dollar payment toward employee benefits that was due Wednesday.

The plan is for the postal service to reduce hours at some 13,000 rural locations.

Oil Prices Up After New Sanctions On Iran

Global oil prices have increased after the United States imposed new economic sanctions on Iran.

Sanctions prevent other countries from purchasing oil from Iran or transacting with the Central Bank of Iran.

Obama Authorized U.S. Support For Syrian Rebels


Obama's order earlier this year broadly permits the CIA and other U.S. agencies to provide support that could oust Assad.

The White House has not provided lethal weapons to the rebels.

It's not known when the secret order was signed. 

San Antonio Airport Evacuated Due To Bomb Threat


The San Antonio airport was evacuated Wednesday afternoon after someone called in a bomb threat.

Police found no explosives and the airport entrance was reopened just before 5Pm Central time.
